Ben Shuffain- Head Coach WRs/DBs
Ben Shuffain is entering his third year as Head Coach for the Eagles. He is a Wellness Teacher and a Sharon High School Class of 1999 graduate. Coach Shuffain played Pop Warner for Sharon along with being the Starting High School QB from 1996-1998 for the Eagles. He started his coaching career in Sharon in 2002 and made other stops along the way at Oliver Ames High School, Stonehill College and Carver High School. Coach Shuffain was named a 2023 Boston Globe Coach of the Year and the South Shore League Coach of the Year while leading the Carver Crusaders to their first ever trip to Gillette Stadium. Coach is also a veteran of the United States Navy and teaches Wellness at SHS.
Richard Paling- Associate Head Coach
Coach Paling begins his first season with the Eagles, bringing 30 years of high school football coaching experience to the program. He has coached across the field—Offensive and Defensive Line, Linebackers, and Defensive Backs—and has served as a Defensive Coordinator for many years.
His coaching career includes stops at Middleboro, Plymouth, Old Rochester, Wareham, Carver, and Bourne, with multiple State Championship appearances at Wareham and Carver. Coach Paling is also a longtime educator, having spent over 30 years in the Wareham Public Schools. Coach will work with the Linebackers, D- Line and O-Line this season and oversee the Defensive Gameplans.

Tyler Lennox- Assistant Coach (QBs/LBs)
Tyler Lennox entering his second season as an assistant coach. A standout high school quarterback at Carver under Coach Shuffain, Tyler led his team to a State Championship appearance as a senior and earned All-Scholastic honors from the Boston Herald, Boston Globe, and Patriot Ledger. He was recognized as Globe Player of the Year and named League MVP. By the end of his high school career, Tyler ranked among the Top 10 in Massachusetts history for career passing yards and touchdown passes, as well as single-season marks in both categories. He continued his playing career at UMass Dartmouth, competing at quarterback. In his first year managing the offense for the Eagles, they set program records in passing and receiving. This season, Coach Lennox will be working primarily with the Eagles’ quarterbacks and linebackers and assuming the defensive play calling duties.
Joe Haven- Assistant Coach (OL/DL)
Joe Haven is entering his 15th season coaching football, thirteen of them as as part of the Sharon Eagles football staff. He also has been the Eagles JV lacrosse coach for the past 8 seasons. A graduate of Attleboro High School, Coach Haven has worked for the Sharon school department for 22 years.
Peter Canuto- Assistant Coach (TEs/DL)
Peter Canuto is in his third year as an assistant coach for the Eagles. He previously coached at Oliver Ames from 2008 to 2011 as the special teams and linebackers coach, contributing to the team's 2011 Davenport Division championship and their appearance in the High School Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium. Before Oliver Ames, he spent several years coaching Sharon and Easton Pop Warner. A former player for the Sharon Eagles, Canuto graduated from Sharon High School in 1997. He currently works for the Town of Sharon and is actively involved in the revival of Sharon Youth Football and Cheer.
Giovani Valmond- Assistant Coach (RB/DB)
Giovani Valmond is in his third year as an assistant coach for the Eagles. A former player for the Eagles (Class of 2017), Coach Valmond went on to attend Dean College, where he played two years of Division III football. After his college career, he began working for the Town of Sharon as the School Resource Officer. Additionally, Coach Valmond has served in the United States Army National Guard since 2019 and continues to serve to this day. He will be working with the Running Backs and Defensive Line.
Wayne Moore- Assistant Coach
Wayne Moore is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Eagles. He played tight end for the Boston Tech Tigers and was a three-time NEFL champion with the Boston Bandits. With over a decade of coaching experience with the Brookline JP Patriots Pop Warner program, Coach Moore also coaches with Sharon Youth Football. He will be assisting with the tight ends and defensive lines this season.
